This month, children of the WhyteHouse were intrigued with the properties of light as they explored its characteristics through play and experiments. The cardboard experiment teaches children that light travels in a straight line and it is because of this property of light, shadow is formed. Needless to say, the children were eager to engage in shadow play and had a lot of fun twisting and turning their tiny little fingers and hands.
