Literacy : Language and Learning

The larger the number of words a child is exposed to, the more opportunities are there for the child to improve his or her language skills. Children learn language through listening and speaking, by making associations between sound and what it symbolises. We believe that the earlier children are exposed to other languages, the more chances are there for them to tap into their natural ability to distinguish between sounds and to make sense of what they are hearing. This month, children of the WhyteHouse were engaged in various age-appropriate and fun activities to help retention and memory.
